week 7

1. What is the Newton’s Law of Cooling?

The Newton's Law of Cooling is a method used to find a temperature of an object, and to find the temperature of an object, you have to consider all the surroundings of the body, because it's temperature depends on the temperature of it's environment.

2. What variables in your problem correspond with the variables in the Newton’s Law of Cooling?

*Room temperature

*Temperature of the body in 3 different conditions: sick (101 ºF), average (100ºF) and healthy(98.6ºF)

*Time

3. According to this Law, at what time approximately the death happened?

According to my results, the time of death should be between 8:44 and 8:56 pm, depending on the health of Mr. H on the time of death.

4. How does the room temperature affect the time of death?

Well, in this problem it didn't affect it that much, because the difference was only of 5º, but it showed the difference on the seconds, but the minutes were the same.

5. How does an illness (e.g. fever) affect the time of death?

If Mr. H wasn't healthy, then his time of death is before than if he was unhealthy and it would take longer if he was healthy. The healthiest Mr. H was, then it shows that the body was dead after 8:50.

6. How exact is the approximation of the Newton’s Law of Cooling for predicting the time of death?

I think it's very exact, although you cant be sure that it is the exact time and temperature, it is a very good approcimation to the problems.
